Fine Art at a wedding?

As we get our creative juices flowing during weddings, we always concentrate on the obvious.  The bride and groom, the guests, the wedding details... And, we truly get fantastic shots of those!  But, we are now trying to take our creativity beyond the obvious.  We are now challenging ourselves to try to take a photo and make it into Fine Art.  Something that maybe that bride and groom may want to hang in their home as art, and it have special meaning since it was shot at their wedding.  Just as an example, at Dalia and Oren's wedding, we created a fabulous image from the detail of the temple wall.  It is lined with the Star of David in a unique pattern that caught our attention, and it is truly a work of art in it's own right.  After the night was done and guests went home, we shot cars zooming past the temple on the streets of Miami Beach, and the results were amazing!  Very eclectic, I think.
If you are interested in purchasing any fine art print from this wedding or any other wedding, please feel free to contact us.  These images are also posted on our wedding website.

Miami Wedding Photographhy: Carolina and Javier

Where can I begin? This wedding was absolutely perfect from the moment we walked into her room and saw her dress. We immediately started to get inspired. And, then when we saw her completely dressed and ready to go, fabulous. Caro looked completely stunning. The church, St. Patricks is always a romantic ceremony site, with the most beautiful ambient lighting. And, off to the reception at the Double Tree, where the party started before the cocktails were even served! The dance floor was packed with family and friends celebrating the love between Javier and Caro. Once the bride and groom made their way for their first dance, tears were flowing with smiles and laughter from each and every guest! They are a couple that completely stands out from the crowd (even if they weren't the bride and groom). I found myself unable to remove my finger from the shutter (more so than normal). There was so much interaction between the two of them that I was in heaven. I had a smile the whole night, you might have not seen it since it was buried behind the camera, but we had such a great time. What an emotionally beautiful wedding. For us, it's a dream. We captured true emotions in this wedding, raw emotions that cannot be rehearsed or posed. It is so obvious how much Javier and Caro love each other!
Now its your turn to show your love for these amazing photos, make sure to post a comment for Javier and Carolina!

TWO and NEW!

I had such a great time photographing this family. I especially enjoyed seeing Sofia again, we photographed her newborn pictures 2 years ago and boy has she gotten big. She has a huge personality and loves to help mommy with her new baby sister Carolina. It is so cute to see the two of them together. Of course, Sofia tends to think Carolina is her new baby doll; she makes sure to pat her back when she cries and does not let the pacifier fall out of her mouth...so sweet! Photographing newborns, I must say is such a pleasure. They are so precious and new, plus they mostly enjoy being photographed. Photographing toddlers is a different story. You will usually find me singing cartoon jingles and making animal sounds. Seriously, I often think "are other photographers so committed to their work?" Before these sessions, I usually tell the parents to prepare themselves with some ammo (a new toy, a favorite toy, a bribe, anything). Then on my way to the shoot I prepare myself with a grande upside down caramel machiatto from Starbucks and come to the set full of energy and ready to play. In Sofia's case, me rolling around in the ground seemed to portray that I was there for a play date and not to photograph Sophia. So how did I get these cute pics of Sofia? Mommy busted out some M&M's and daddy started chanting "UM, Go Canes". Go figure, whatever works! That is all it took and the results are pictures of Sofia showing off her bright personality.
Leslie, I truly did enjoy my time with the girls. Congratulations on your new baby girl, I wish you many blessings.

two girls and now a boy

I am so blessed to have reunited with my best friend from highschool, and I owe it all to facebook (I swear I did not get paid for this plug). After we graduated high school, Michelle and I lost touch as time passed. She started a family while I began my photography career and then started a family of my own. And, one day on facebook, we crossed paths and the rest is history! Now I have the honor of photographing her new baby boy! He is so sweet, and so are his pictures.
Michelle, wishing your family many blessings!
xoxo,
Patty

Can I confess?

When Nancy & Rigo were sitting in our studio discussing e-session locations, I stopped breathing. "Did she say horses? Yes, I think she did. OMG, horses? No, it can't be. But, there it is again... That word, horses. She's joking. Funny." As I laugh, I realize she's serious. Horses it is.
Well, let me tell you a few things I learned from this session with Nancy and Rigo...
1. No poop smells good, especially horse poop.
2. Nancy & Rigo are freaking adorable! (Can't wait for their wedding!)
3. Don't knock it till you try it! A ranch was a perfect place for their e-session. We always talk about wanting different locations, different looks, etc. Well, we got different... and beautiful... and gorgeous... and, well, you can see for yourself.

Enjoy the show!

C+J= I DO!

Where do I start? I first want to say that I absolutely LOVE working with this couple. Cynthia and Jovanni seem to be in-sync all the time, which made photographing their feelings for one another a piece of cake. We especially like the creative portraits that we were able to capture of the two of them. Given the extra time that the two of them set aside for us plus their trust in us, we were guaranteed some kick ass pics. The wedding and reception took place at The Douglas Entrance. The flowers and cake were designed by the mother of the bride...how cool is that. The scrumptious food and catering services were provided by A Fancy Fiesta. There were so many moments in this wedding that stand out in my mind. One being the flower girl stopping mid point to blow out the decorative candle vases lining the aisle. The moment that Cynthia and Jovanni had just finished walking down the aisle, curved the corner then began to celebrate the beginning of their forever. Moments... such important moments that we have the honor of photographing. We have such an amazing job!

Wendy & Alfredo

You know, I love to shoot weddings.  It's always an emotional and happy occasion when two people profess their love in front of God and their family and friends.  And I get to capture it all!
But, when I'm a part of the family, it's even more special!  As Wendy and Alfredo read their vows, I was clicking away and wiping my own tears at the same time!!!  It was a beautiful ceremony with the Key Largo sunset as a backdrop.  What more could you ask for?
Wendy and Alfredo, I wish you so many many years of bliss!  You have a beautiful family and now, you have a beautiful marriage.
With all my love,
Susie
