Calle Ocho

Finally! I have been dying to do an engagement session in Calle Ocho. I finally found the perfect couple willing to try something different. Naisleth and Roberto loved the idea from the start. They are both Cuban and loved the idea of incorporating their ethnic background into the session. I had no problem finding lots of color for backdrops, which is what makes a lot of these pictures pop. I had so much fun with this couple they were so easy to work with. Roberto especially did a great job keeping Naisleth laughing. Now that I have my Calle Ocho idea on paper, there is no imagination needed. I really hope to have the opportunity to do it again soon...hint....hint!

My Boys...

Maybe I'm a little biased, but my boys are adorable.  Don't you think?  Anthony and Chris love the water, and we got them a little pool and they could live in there.  Here are some recent pictures of them jumping in!!! (Mind you, the pool is only like 6 inches deep, but they have no fear!)

Cookie and Willie

Yeah! Another Trash the Dress Session! How much fun, we absolutely love doing this kind of work. Cookie and Willie came to us post wedding wanting to get unique shots but also formal portraits. They expressed how much they both enjoy the ocean, so of course are first location was Bill Baggs State Park in Key Biscayne. We captured a mixture of formal and romantic shots that really show Cookie and Willie's relationship. As for the unique cool shots we kind of jumped around Key Biscayne finding inspiration anywhere.

As you can imagine there is a lot of work that goes into a Trash the Dress Session. In Cookie and Willie's case, they had to rent a tux, purchase a bouquet, get hair done (not make-up, Cookie is a pro make up artist). But as you can see it is definitely worth all the trouble. After all when was the last time you went to some ones home and saw wedding portraits like these up on the walls?

Ray and Kati

After rescheduling this session 3 times, I was so happy to finally be able to photograph this beautiful family. First we had to reschedule because Ray was sick, then Kati got sick, then the weather. Just bad luck, I guess. Both kids had such a great time, all they wanted to do was play with the sand, the water, the shells. It took some time to get Ray to warm up to me, but when I finally told him "let's see how fast you can run" that's what did the trick. He cracked and I was able to catch his personality. Kati was all smiles, she especially loved the sand and shells. At the end of the day she had sand everywhere.

Photo Session Tip: if you plan on taking your photo session at the beach, be sure to bring baby powder. It will take the sand off easily.

Barroso Thank You Card

Take a look at the thank you card I designed for one of our June couples. This is perfect for the person who hates writing thank you cards. It is a 5x7 flat card. You have the option of writing a personal handwritten thank you in the back or you can opt to send it as is. Perfect... no more stressing on how your handwriting looks, and what to write. Did I mention that each card is uniquely designed to match your wedding. We also offer the traditional fold cards, for all of you talented writers out there.

Look at this face!

Isn't my nephew the most beautiful baby!  I love his chunky cheeks and his mohawk!!!  These are his 1 month portrait session.  He wasn't cooperative, I'll tell ya.  He has a great set of lungs.  (Take a look at his announcement!!!)

Baby Girl on it's way!

Kati as you can see is well into her pregnancy, and I am so glad we were able to shoot her pregnancy on time. We had no choice but to do the session at her home since she was on bed rest. I am so glad we did, her home made a beautiful back drop. With a beautiful setting and such a wonderful couple I had no problem getting inspired and creative. For maternity sessions I think it's important to pick out the right wardrobe. Your clothes should accentuate your belly definitely. I also think it's important to have either black or white clothes, in Kati's session she wore both. The reason for this is to get pictures like the black and white picture of Kati by the window. I almost always try to get this type of photo, it is timeless and the lighting by the window makes her glow beautifully. Don't get me wrong the photos of Kati outside in her trendy dress are amazing. The dress was perfect to pull off this model look. Overall this session was a huge success I am so happy with pictures. I hope to have the opportunity to photograph them again with their new bundle of joy!

Funny Face Caught on Camera!

I smile every time I see this picture! Aiden has so many expressions but this particular one is hilarious. I was taking a few pictures of Aiden Saturday afternoon. In an attempt to make him smile, I decided to blow in his face - and this is the picture I got. I LOVE IT!

Bath Time with Aiden

Aiden loves taking a bath, but I love the time I spend with him after his bath. He is always in such a great mood afterwards. This seems like the best time to get lots of giggles from him.

Twins!

I am so excited about these pictures. One reason is that I got to photograph twins! Another reason is that I had the pleasure of photographing the whole family. Of course neither of these happen often. I love the pictures of the parents interacting with the kids, they came out so tender and sweet. The kids were so great. They acted like such angels, no fusses just smiles. I had the best time capturing Natalia and Andres' different personalities. Natalia is all smiles, she couldn't stop smiling and laughing. Andres on the other hand is more gentle, caressing mommies face...adorable. What a beautiful family!

By the way Natalia is sporting our new Jamie Rae hat. We bought the hat specifically for infant photo sessions, I LOVE how bright overly sized the hat is.
