Cassandra's Baby Announcement

front

back

Vintage floral was my inspiration for this announcement. This particular client gave me the OK to do whatever I wanted, "whatever you think looks nice I have complete faith in you" were her exact words. Naturally I was super excited to start working on this project. I wanted to incorporate the color blue but keep a feminine look to it. I think by incorporating the color blue with pink makes it interesting and different. I used a distress overlay on the background to give it the vintage look. Voila! I am so happy with how it came out.

Cassandra has arrived!

Cassandra was a perfect angel during the whole session. I was able to photograph her awake, sleeping and some extra photos with her big sis. I made sure to take advantage of using all natural light which gave Cassandra an angelic look. I can not wait to design her baby announcement- I am thinking of a vintage floral design!

The birth of REESE!

For all of you blog stalkers I am sure this mommy's face looks familiar. I took maternity photos of Kati last month and now I had the honor of photographing her new baby girl, Reese. I made sure to take a photo of Reese's beautiful nursery. I loved how she incorporated one of the photos (above the crib) from the maternity session. I was looking forward to this photo session because of my wonderful experience with the maternity session. Kati was so nice to work with and made my job so easy. This session was no different. While Kati soothed Reese I was able to capture tender moments between the two of them. I was even able to quickly snap a curious moment between Reese and her little doggie, Lilly. Stay tuned to see Reese's baby announcements.

Fetes and Events Meet

I had the pleasure of meeting the master mind behind Fetes and Events, Maggie. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this wedding planning company...where have you been. The company is known for it's all inclusive packages and exclusive reception/ceremony sites, The Zen House and The Club of Knights. One of the vendors that are included in their packages is our friends DJ Connection, that alone makes Fetes and Events weddings a non-stop party. I am looking forward to photographing an upcoming wedding at The Club of Knights. The site has many photo ops to choose from. They have a cocktail lounge area that is dressed in white and a ballroom that is nothing ordinary. I especially love the new white strips of fabric that they have cascading across the ballroom's wood beam ceiling. If you are in search of a ceremony/reception site, Fetes and Events new website is great place to start.

Thank you Maggie for taking the time to meet with me and the opportunity to show off my work. I look forward to working with you and your staff at Rosa's wedding.

A word from Parker J.

I wanted to share a few words that Parker J. (kick ass photographer) mentioned on the wedding planning blog, Style Me Pretty.

"Don’t settle with your wedding images. This day only happens once. This is a day that you have been dreaming of since you were in pigtails. This is a day when you will see your father cry for the first time. This is a day that marks the beginning of a new life. This is a day that will never happen again. How will you choose to remember it? An image should not only be seen with your eyes, but felt in your heart."

Susie and I have posted about this subject before, but for some reason when Parker J. explains it, it sounds sooo much better.

What is important to you when planning a wedding? Don't settle on a photographer!

RATE- P.S. Photography

One of our brides, Carolina, submitted us as photographer in http://www.southfloridaweddingvendors.com/. She of course rated us 5/5; thank you very much. I love to get feedback from clients. It reassures us that we are providing great service. I would say 90% of our clients are referrals, so we realize how it important it is to keep our clients happy. I can honestly say we go above and beyond for our clients. At the end of their wedding day I can consider them friends. It helps to have a good relationship with your clients, it definitely makes the job easier and so much more fun.
The website Carolina submitted us in is super cool. It's hard to explain, but it's basically an extension to "The Knot" site. Read on to get a better understanding.
"Well, imagine that I wanted to see which knotties used "XYZ florist". To get this information on the knot, I would probably create a post that says "Has anyone used XYZ florist?". I would get some responses, mostly from current brides. This would be useful information, and I could chat with other brides about that florist etc., but wouldn't it be better if I could find out which PAST brides had used that florist? Then I could read their vendor review of that florist and take a look in their bio to see if they had wedding pictures posted to see the that florist's work in action!"
It seems like it would be super helpful when planning a wedding. It would be great if we can get some more clients to submit their rating. In order to submit a rating or comment you must register, but Carolina told me it took her seconds. Thanks in advance!

New Site- Same Awesome DJ's

Once again, Susie and I had the honor of photographing the amazing staff of DJ Connection. The company now has a new website, so of course they need some updated pictures to go along with it. As always, they were so much fun to photograph- as you can imagine a room full of DJ's- which made the photo session feel more like a party. To see more of our pictures from this session, simply go to DJ Connection's new site http://www.thedjconnectioninc.com/

By the way, P.S. Photography is mentioned on their site as a preferred vendor- how cool is that?
Thank you Javier and the staff at DJ Connection your support is amazing and I can't wait to work together again (next month at Rosa's wedding)!

Save the Date Card

For some reason the "Save the Date" card craze is slowly drifting a way. Recently I haven't had any requests from brides to design a Save the Date card. Why not, I am so sad, I think they are such a great idea. It is a perfect way to entice your guests with what your wedding is all about. My favorite reason to have Save the Date cards is to incorporate your engagement session photos. That is exactly what Nicki did with her card. Thou I can not take credit for the design of the card (Nicki designed it herself, fellow photographer and interior designer extraordinaire), I love how it came out and I had to share it. Make sure to scroll down and see some other photos that Susie and I took at their engagement session.

Awesome Find!!!

I stumbled upon this blog http://www.stylemepretty.com/. For all of you brides, you have got to check this blog out. It is so inspiring, if I was planning my wedding all over again I would be stalking this site. It is full of ideas! Some wedding planning sites in my opinion can be so generic. Same seashell ideas, same color schemes...blah...blah...blah. The author of style me pretty, Abby, truly has a great sense of style and really does a great job being eclectic with her ideas. After I viewed the site for about 45min., I left with an urge to plan a party or even better get married again.
